Empathy Awareness
About Me

Hi! My name is Yaeli Baron, and I’m a senior in high school with a passion for connection, inclusion, and making a difference. I started this Empathy Awareness Campaign because I believe that empathy is the foundation for truly inclusive communities. Too often, people who are different, whether in ability or background, are misunderstood or overlooked, which leads to isolation and judgment. Through my experiences, I’ve seen how empathy bridges those gaps by encouraging us to see the world through others’ eyes and listen without judgment. This campaign is my way of inspiring others, especially young people, to practice empathy daily and recognize that everyone deserves respect and understanding.
My vision for this campaign is to inspire a cultural shift in which empathy becomes central to how we relate to one another. I want to see communities where differences are celebrated, and everyone feels included and supported, regardless of their abilities or background. By spreading empathy, I hope to build bridges of kindness and connection, reduce judgment, and empower people to see one another fully—beyond labels or assumptions. When empathy leads the way, we create a world where everyone belongs.
A big part of my journey has been participating in Yad b’Yad, a summer program run by Yachad, where teens with and without disabilities travel together in Israel and build meaningful friendships. This unforgettable experience taught me so much about empathy, leadership, and the power of community. I’ve also worked at Camp Mesorah and participated in the Yachad Fellowship, where I developed stronger advocacy and inclusive leadership skills—skills I carry with me everywhere I go. I also enjoy volleyball, basketball, tennis, and swimming, spending time with my siblings and friends, and making the most of each day through new experiences and meaningful connections.
At the heart of it all, I believe empathy isn’t just a feeling—it’s an action. It’s the choice to listen, include, and uplift others every day. My hope is that this campaign reminds people that small acts of understanding can create powerful waves of change. Together, we can build a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected.
