"Empathy and hope can help us find our way back to light."

Her Story

At first glance, Aimee Baron’s life looks complete. She’s a devoted wife, a proud mother of five, and a pediatrician by training. She loves cooking, hosting family meals, and building a sense of warmth and connection in her home. But behind this vibrant exterior lies a story of loss and resilience. Aimee endured six heartbreaking pregnancy losses—experiences that transformed her life and inspired her to found I Was Supposed to Have a Baby, an organization dedicated to supporting those facing infertility and pregnancy loss. “My journey was long, winding, and deeply humbling,” she shares. “It was filled with heartbreak, waiting, hope, loss, and growth all tangled together.”

For Aimee, infertility was both an emotional and spiritual struggle. “It made me feel invisible at times—like I was living a parallel life while everyone else was moving forward,” she explains. The pain was often most intense during holidays and family celebrations, when reminders of what she longed for were all around her. Over time, she learned to create her own space for healing. “What helped me cope was giving myself permission to feel it all—sadness, frustration, gratitude, and hope—without judgment.” These lessons in self-compassion became acts of quiet empathy toward herself, helping her reclaim moments of peace and meaning.

Throughout her journey, Aimee found strength in her faith, her husband, and her close friend Rebecca, who had also experienced loss. “She really got me through it because she understood—and we understood each other,” Aimee recalls. One of her most powerful memories is of Rebecca sitting silently beside her after a loss—no advice, no words, just presence. That simple act taught Aimee what true empathy means: being there. In time, she turned her pain into purpose. “You are not broken. You are not alone,” she tells others. Through her advocacy and compassion, Aimee reminds the world that even in heartbreak, empathy and hope can help us find our way back to light.
